Behind the blog: An in depth interview with the little one, age 3

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of Pub Patio Playdate.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I’m proud of myself for keeping at it; it hasn’t always been easy. There are a few things related to the blog that I was hoping to launch this fall, but it looks like they’ll have to wait. It’s been a bit of a challenge to manage my day job, starting a company, PPP and trying to maximize relaxation and friends and family time this summer. But, we’re on the right track and we’ll get there eventually.

I considered writing a sappy post all about what this blog means to me. But I did a bit of that six months ago. So instead, I’ll give you a glimpse into the person who is truly behind PPP…

Behind the blog: An in depth interview with the little one, age 3She arrives at our interview like a Tasmanian devil on speed, running into the living room, bouncing off the couch and attempting a handstand in the middle of the floor, all the while bellowing an off-key rendition of  “Down by the Bay.”

She stands up and looks at me smiling. She’s pleased with herself.

She’s wearing a black skirt and a loose-fitting fluorescent green t-shirt, her curly hair uncombed. She looks like a three-foot tall, non-X-rated American Apparel model covered in peanut butter. I ask if I can ask her some questions.

“Okay, but I need to play with my blocks.”

She’s the person behind Pub Patio Playdate. Although she’s not at a computer writing the content or hanging out on Twitter (not yet),  the blog would be very different, or non-existent, if it weren’t for her.

She’s the muse.

She’s inspires it and in many ways, it’s her story being told.

The little one has agreed to take some time out of her busy schedule to chat.

Ultimately, she yells out the answers, barely looking at me, going back and forth between my lap and the Duplo castle on the floor. She’s fidgety and there’s an occasional bit of exasperation in her voice. At three-years-old, she has better things to do.
