Delta Jones at Just Play Toy Rental wrote a great blog post this week about ordinary days and how it’s okay to forgo the events and activities and just stay home. If you have kids and always seem to be on the go, read this…and then relax.
There are so many great events in urban Ottawa and I want the little one to have all kinds of awesome experiences so I sometimes forget that not every weekend needs to be filled with extra fun outings.
Thanks Delta for the reminder that it’s okay to just play in the backyard or build forts in the living room. You’re right; our kids will probably appreciate the events and activities a little more if they’re not the norm.
That being said, here are 10 events coming up in and around Ottawa this fall. My suggestion…Pick one and spend every other weekend at home playing in the leaves or baking apple crisp.
Follies of the Fall Forest in Gatineau Park (September 28 - October 14)
Beau’s Oktoberfest in Vankleek Hill (October 4 – 5)
Annual Biology Butterfly Show at Carleton University (October 5 – 14)
The Haunted Walk’s Halloween Season (October 15 – November 2)
Halloween at the Museums (October 26 – 27)
Toy and Game Expo (November 2 – 3)
Ottawa Storytellers Children’s Festival (November 9 – 10)
P.S. If you`re looking for a few things to keep the kids busy while at home, Just Play Toy Rental has more than a few options…
